My sincere condolences to Jörn’s family, and all his friends and colleagues. Jörn gave me a chance to perform research with him based on a random email and his willingness to teach someone early on in their studies/career. While it was only for a couple months, Jörn exemplified to me how one should always seek to understand, starting with the next logical question in our minds. I will carry this lesson with me always.
