Marco Narici

Jörn was a good friend and an excellent scientist, a leader in bone biology and space medicine and, above all, a wonderful person.
I shall always treasure the fantastic years we spent together in Alsager, building up labs, with Alberto Minetti and Costis Maganaris; we had such good fun, also with so may trips to JSC and Toulouse (with Kirsten!) to follow our first ISS mission, so exciting.
Not only we spent many hours working in the lab but we also spent wonderful time socialising together, going for walks in Bickerton Hill, sharing a drink at the White Horse Pub or enjoying Jörn’s excellent cuisine (what an excellent cook!). Jörn was a real polyglot, not only he spoke English impeccably but he also spoke excellent Italian and this increased even further our friendhip.
I also had the pleasure of visiting Jörn at his house in Rohndorf and met his lovely wife Natia; my thoughts are with her and her beautiful family.
Joern, my dear friend, it was wonderful knowing you, I shall always remember you with your beautiful smile.
