biography
Dear colleagues,
We are deeply saddened by the passing of Monique Abeels, beloved wife of our company founder Berthold Koch and mother of Yannick, Annabelle, and Vincent Koch.
Monique Abeels was closely connected to our company for many years. Following the sudden loss of Berthold Koch in 2007, she took on the role as Managing Director and shareholder, guiding BEKO TECHNOLOGIES with remarkable strength and vision for eight years. Her foresight, dedication, and unwavering commitment left an enduring impact on our organization.
For many of us, Monique was a trusted conversational partner, a source of stability, and an inspiring personality. Even after stepping back from her active role, she remained a significant presence through her warmth and deep bond with the company.
We will cherish her memory and gratefully honor what she has contributed to our company and its people.
With heartfelt sympathy
Valeria

2. December 2025 at 9:31I still remember every single one of your smiles, clear as yesterday.
In 2012, you traveled to Shanghai in China to support BEKO China in establishing the local factory there. Then in 2018, even with your leg injured, you flew thousands of miles again, this time to Nantong in China, to stand with BEKO China as they built a new plant, and signed your name with unwavering commitment.
Your actions have not only shown us the true meaning of responsibility, but in this full of noisy information age, your actions have also been a source of spiritual strength and inspiration for us all.

4. December 2025 at 8:58I met and spoke to Monique several times during my work. She was always genuinely interested in you, knew who you were, what you were doing.
I once had the privilege of speaking to her one-on-one about the representation of women in our company and her kind words motivated me to reach higher than I thought I couldnor should as a female in a world dominated by men.
She proved that you can be elegant, determined, gracious and kind at a high level in a company. She showed me what it looks like to be a true inspiration, a leader, not a boss, and somebody who is absolutely a family-minded person, to all those in our company.
It’s with great sadness that we will have to miss her lovely smile at BEKO TECHNOLOGIES.
She was and is an inspiration to me.

9. December 2025 at 18:10In times like this, not only is it challenging to find the right words, but they tend to ring hollow. Even delaying trying to articulate my thoughts has not helped much. Ms. Abeels’ passing is a loss we all feel. She was the cornerstone of the family and left an indelible imprint on the business. She will be greatly missed. Still, most importantly, we must remember how she lived, and while she is gone, she will most certainly never be forgotten.

From my own experience, I know what a difficult time lies ahead of you. I hope you find the strength you need to get through this difficult time.
Your family was always very important to Mrs Abeels, which makes it all the more important to support each other now that she has passed away.
I had the privilege of engaging in profound, cheerful and forward-looking conversations with Mrs Abeels over many years.
She always paid close attention to us as employees, and I will fondly remember her as a down-to-earth, kind-hearted person.
Dear Mrs Abeels, may you have a good journey; now there is another star in the sky.
