A Firefighter with Heart and Dedication
Peter Wasser was born on March 12, 1975, in Kühlbach. From an early age, he was fascinated by technology and teamwork—values he found reflected in the volunteer fire department of his hometown. He joined active duty in 1993 and remained loyal to his fire service for over three decades.
Peter was not only an experienced breathing apparatus carrier and team leader, but also a respected trainer for the next generation of firefighters. His calm nature, strong sense of responsibility, and unmistakable sense of humor made him a valued comrade—both on duty and in the social life of the department.
In addition to his operational role, Peter was actively involved for many years on the department's committee and helped organize numerous festivals, drills, and public events. For him, firefighting was not just a duty, but a living, shared community.
Peter Wasser received multiple honors for his service, including the Fire Service Medal of Honor in Silver. His readiness to serve, courage, and humanity will never be forgotten.
He passed away on June 12, 2025, at the age of 50—far too soon, but leaving behind a legacy that lives on.
